All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) President Pankaj Bikram Nembang and General Secretary Kiran Rai, who were traveling to America to watch the World Cup starting tomorrow, have been held back by the Tribhuvan International Airport Immigration Office.
They had reached the TIA this morning to go to America to watch the World Cup 2026.
Ramchandra Tiwari, Director General of the Immigration Department, informed that Nembang and Rai were turned away from the airport.
"They were stopped from the TIA based on a letter from the National Sports Council under the Ministry of Sports," Tiwari told Nepalkhabar, "We received a letter a few days ago not to allow them to go out for sports programs. Based on the same letter, we have stopped them from going abroad."
The National Sports Council (NSC) has banned all ANFA officials, including Nembang and Rai, from going abroad to investigate financial matters.
