Newly appointed Home Minister Sudhan Gurung and Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun have taken the oath of office.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers at a special ceremony held at the President's Office on Tuesday afternoon. President Paudel had appointed them as ministers on Tuesday itself on the recommendation of Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Gurung has returned to the Home Ministry after three months. Gurung resigned from his post on May 3 after being linked to businessman Deepak Bhatta, who was arrested in a money laundering case.

Prime Minister Shah gave him the responsibility of the Home Ministry again after the investigation committee formed by the government gave Gurung a 'clean chit'.
Similarly, Pun, who was appointed as the Minister for Science, is an independent MP. He was elected from Myagdi.
He was previously the Minister for Education, Science and Technology in the Sushila Karki-led cabinet. According to Pun, he resigned and contested the election after he was unable to bring a bill.
