Belgium defeated the United States 4-1 in the Round of 16 at Seattle Stadium, eliminating the tournament co-hosts from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Belgium opened the scoring early when Charles De Ketelaere scored in the 9th minute following a defensive error by the US. The United States equalized in the 31st minute when Malik Tillman's 30-yard free kick deflected past Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
However, Belgium regained the lead just two minutes later through another goal from De Ketelaere. In the second half, Hans Vanaken scored Belgium's third goal in the 57th minute, and substitute Romelu Lukaku sealed the 4-1 victory with a final goal during stoppage time.
With this loss, the United States is officially out of the tournament. Belgium now advances to the quarter-finals, where they will face Spain.
