The Nepal government has made it clear that Nepal is committed to the One China Policy.
In a press conference held on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Nepal is committed to the One China Policy. A few days ago, a question was raised in the parliament about the One China Policy after the government turned a blind eye to the Dalai Lama's birthday celebration in Nepal.
In response to the same question, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Lok Bahadur Paudel Chhetri said that the government is steadfast in its established policy of not allowing its land to be used against the interests of any neighboring country. "Nepal is committed to the One China Policy," Chhetri said.
He said that Nepal will not allow Nepal's land to be used against the interests of any friendly country. "Nepal is steadfast in its established policy of not allowing its land to be used against the interests of any neighboring country. We are committed to not allowing our land, Nepali land, to be used against the interests of any friendly country," he said. "The government's policy and its stance remain unchanged in accordance with that commitment."
He said that the government of Nepal's policy and its stance on the One China Policy remain unchanged.
