Senior Advisor of the Nepal–India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI), Lal Krishna KC, attended a high-profile luncheon meeting today hosted by the Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava. The event was organized on the occasion of the bilateral India–Nepal Joint Steering Committee (JSC) Meeting on the Power Sector, highlighting the growing momentum in cross-border energy cooperation.
The luncheon brought together an array of distinguished dignitaries and top-tier energy officials from both nations. Among the prominent attendees were Shri Pankaj Agarwal (IAS), Power Secretary of India; Mr DN Misra, Additional Power Secretary of India; and Ms Sarita Dawadi, Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation of Nepal. Representatives from key energy bodies were also present, including Mr Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha, Acting Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), alongside Mr Mohan Kumar Dangi, President, and Ms Abhigya Malla, Secretary of the Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN). The Indian Embassy was further represented by Deputy Chief of Mission Dr Rakesh Pandey and First Secretary (Commerce) Mr Suman Shekhar.
The gathering provided a crucial platform for dialogue among public and private sector leaders dedicated to advancing the regional energy roadmap. In a statement reflecting on the significance of the event, a NICCI spokesperson emphasized the chamber's commitment to fostering deep economic ties between the two neighbors.
