Newly elected Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission, Dr. Min Bahadur Shrestha, has taken oath of office and secrecy.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ administered the oath of office and secrecy to Shrestha at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Minister in Singha Durbar today.
A cabinet meeting held this morning appointed Shrestha to the coveted post.
This is his second term as the vice chairman of the NPC. Prior to joining the NPC, he had served as the Executive Director of the Monetary Management Department of the Nepal Rastra Bank.
He has done PhD in Economics from the University of Wollongong, Australia.
Born in Singa, Myagdi, Shrestha is considered close to the CPN (Maoist Center).
