Bird flu has been detected in three different municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the bird flu has been detected in Khumaltar of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Ramkot of Nagarjun Municipality and Tarkeshwar Municipality.
The flu was detected during test carried out by Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) on January 30, Dr. Ram Prasad Pradhan, chief of Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Service Expert Center, told Nepalkhabar.
“We kept some poultry under observation after suspecting flu. Some poultry were diagnosed with bird flu during the test conducted on January 30. We have already culled 1,000 chickens following the report,” said Pradhan.
