The District Government Attorney Office, Kathmandu, has started investigating the passport submitted by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane to the Passport Department.

The office has started an investigation into the complaint regarding the misuse of the Nepali passport obtained by Lamichhane using an invalid citizenship certificate.

The government attorney office is going to investigate the complaint filed against Lamichhane on Tuesday (February 7).

"Documents have been sent to investigate citizenship, passport and foreign travel," District Government Attorney Office, Kathmandu Chief Achyut Mani Neupane said.

Neupane further said the office has made correspondence with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, Passport Department, Tripureshwor, and Immigration Department, Kalikasthan.

Yuvraj Paudel had filed a complaint of misuse of passport against Lamichhane. Paudel had earlier filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court regarding Lamichhane's citizenship dispute.

After the District Police Range, Kathmandu, refused to register the complaint against Lamichhane, Paudel filed a complaint at the district government attorney office, Kathmandu.

Based on the statement given by Paudel, the district attorney’s office asked for documents and more details from the above-mentioned agencies.
