Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has pointed out loopholes in the digital system maintained by the Nepali Army.
Speaking at a program titled ‘All Nepal Hackathon’ organized by the Nepal Student Union, the student wing of Nepali Congress, at Lalitpuir on Tuesday, Arzu, the wife of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, said even though the digital system has been started in Nepal, the users are still not capable of using it.
Stating that the confidential data of the Nepali Army have reached Turkey, she underscored the need to develop our own information technology for the cyber security in the country.
“Unless we are able to develop our own information technology, Nepal’s security data will remain vulnerable to leakage and be stolen,” said Arzu, referring to the hacking of government websites taken place recently. She further said someone, who she did not want to disclose, showed her confidential security data and emails of generals of Nepali Army to have been leaked to Turkey.
