CPN (Maoist Center) has taken strong exception to the writ petition filed against Prime Minister Pushpa Kama Dahal ‘Prachanda’ in the Supreme Court on Sunday.
A joint bench of Justices Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada and Hari Prasad Phuyal on Friday issued an order directing to file the writ.
Earlier, the Supreme Court Registrar quashed the writ petition filed by a group including Gyanendra Raj Aran saying that it is not deemed fit to be registered.
Issuing a press note on Sunday, General Secretary Dev Prsad Gurung drew the Supreme Court’s attention towards the order.
The Maoist Center disapproves of any activities against the Nepal's Constitution and federalism, secularism, inclusion, proportional representation, democratic republic and other progressive achievements," the statement said.
"The remark by Chairman Dahal at a certain program by exercising his right to freedom of expression guaranteed by the Constitution is misinterpreted with ill-intentions and the registration of the writ against the same statement was driven by prejudice," the statement adds.
Stating that any activities against the norms and values of transitional justice would pose severe challenges to the entire peace process, the party has urged one and all to get united for achieving economic prosperity and further political accomplishments.
