Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province Kamal Bahadur Shah has taken the vote of confidence on Sunday.
Forty-one members of parliament (MPs) voted in favor of Chief Minister Shah while 11 others voted against him, informed speaker Bhim Bahadur Bhandari.
Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Nagarik Unmukti Party, CPN (Unified Socialist) and independent lawmakers gave the vote of confidence to Shah.
CPN (UML) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) did not vote for the Chief Minister.
Shah, the provincial parliamentary party leader of Nepali Congress, had been elected as the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province in line with Article 168 (3) of the Constitution on February 9.
With the vote of confidence, the Sudurpaschim Province government led by NC has been saved.
Earlier, Chief Minister Rajendra Singh Rawal of UML, who had been elected as the CM on January 11, had been relieved of his post in 29 days after Nagarik Unmukti Party did not give a vote of confidence to him.
In the 53-member Sudurpaschim Province Assembly, NC has 19 members, Maoist Center 11 (including speaker), UML 10 members, NUP seven, Unified Socialist has four, RPP has one and the other one is an independent lawmaker.
