Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government has not given permission to open a Buddhist University in Mustang.

Prime Minister Prachanda said so at a time when CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli is accusing the government of committing treason against northern neighbor China by allowing India to open a university in Mustang.

Speaking at a program held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Dahal said the talk of establishing Buddhist College rather a university is not new, said Prachanda, “It has been under discussion for a long time.”

“The talk of opening a Buddhist College in Mustang rather than the Buddhist University has been underway for a long time. But the Nepal government has not given a permission to it.

He further said that if the minerals available in Mustang is properly utilized, we can bring a massive change in the economic sector of the country.

“There have been talks that Mustang holds invaluable minerals in store. If they are properly extracted and utilized, we can enrich our country economically,” said Prachanda.
