An airbus of national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been flown by a crew in which the entire members were women.
Two female pilots had flown an airbus A-320 of the NAC to Dubai from Kathmandu on Saturday.
Pilot Bhawana Panta and co-pilot Sirjana Raut who flew the airbus to Dubai from Kathmandu on Saturday has all the female crew members when it landed in Kathmandu today (Wednesday).
The NAC flight which took off for Kathmandu from Dubai at 4:55 am has all female crew members, said the NAC.
This airbus landed in Kathmandu at 10:35 am today.
Airhostesses Puranjak Maharjan, Sangita KC, Basna Rana and Anisha Prajapati and two pilots –Panta and Raut --were in the airbus.
The NAC had decided to fly an airbus by female crew members on the occasion of International Women’s Day which is today.
NAC’s spokesperson Archana Khadka said this is the first flight ever conducted by female crew members in the NAC’s history.
