Janamat Party to field Mamata Jha for vice president

Janamat Party led by Dr. Chandra Kanta (CK) Raut has decided to field Mamata Jha for the Vice President.

A meeting of the Janamat Party held today decided to field Mamata Jha for the Vice President, Dr. Chandan Singh told Nepalkhabar.

Jha, 53, is the in-charge of Saptari district of Janamat Party. A vice presidential candidate should complete 45 years old to qualify for the post as per the Constitution of Nepal.

Chairman of Janamat Party Raut had been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Saptari-2, in the elections held on November 20.

Nagarik Unmukti Party had decided to nominate party chairman Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhari. She is not qualified for the post on the age ground. She is now only 40 years old.

Similarly, Janata Samajbadi Party has decided to field Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav for the post. Yadav is the member of parliament (MP) elected from Bara-2.

The ruling alliance has said the vice president has been allocated to JSP as per the power sharing deal.
