Speaker Ghimire leaves for Bahrain to attend 146th IPU Assembly

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, has left here for Bahrain on Friday to participate in the 146th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly.

Speaker Ghimire left for Bahrain leading a nine-member delegation to participate in the IPU Assembly being held at Manama of Bahrain from March 11 to 15.  

Lawmakers—Ramesh Lekhak, Hitraj Pandey and Santosh Pariyar, National Assembly member Indu Kadariya, General-Secretary of Federal Parliament Dr Bharat Raj Gautam, Secretary of the House of Representatives Gopal Nath Yogi, Speaker's Secretary Tej Prakash Bhattarai and section officer at Federal Parliament Secretariat,  Rajan Ghimire, are in the delegation. 

Speaker Ghimire on the behalf of the Federal Parliament would present his statement in the general debate 'Promoting peaceful co-existence and inclusive societies: Fighting intolerance'. 

The delegation would attend various meetings during the Assembly.
