Member of the House of Representatives Prabhu Shah also participated in the nine-party Alliance meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence (Baluwatar) to select the Vice President candidate.
Sah, who won the post of MP from Rautahat Constituency No. 3 in the House of Representatives elections held last November 20, later registered the 'Aam Janata Party' with the Election Commission.
With the participation of Sah, the coalition has become a ten-party alliance.
The coalition's Janata Samajbadi Party JSP, Nagarik Unmukti Party and Janmat Party have claimed the post of Vice President.
Even before the agreement on the alliance, JSP has said that the leader of the parliamentary party, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Mamta Jha of Janamat, and Ranjita Shrestha Chaudhary of Nagarik Unmukti will be nominated for the post of Vice President.
However, Nagarik Unmukti Chair Shrestha is ineligible for the post of Vice President due to her age.
As per the constitutional provisions, the candidate for the vice president should be 45 years old.
Nominations will be registered today for the Vice Presidential election to be held on March 17.
Ramchandra Poudel, a senior leader of the Nepali Congress, has been elected to the post of president on behalf of the alliance.
