Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has underlined the need against repeating the same person twice for the president.
In order to attract people to politics, he said, it would be appropriate to have a provision not allowing a person to become the president more than once, a prime minister more than two times, a minister more than three times and an MP more than four times.
Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Trade Union Congress in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Sharma said, had there been a provision of becoming the president not more than once, the country would have got the fifth president this time.
He further stressed the need to bring policies so that former ministers and lawmakers could contribute in bringing transformations in the national economy.
"Had there been a provision not to allow a person to become the president more than once, Ram Chandra Poudel would have taken the oath as the fifth president,” said Sharma, “Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Bidya Devi Bhandari took the oath two times each.”
For the economic transformation, one should not take the oath as the president more than one time, prime minister more than two times, minister more than three times and lawmaker more than four times, said Sharma.
Politics should be focused on economic transformation of the citizens, said Sharma.
