Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun will leave the official residence today (March 16). Preparations have been made to move from the government residence in Lainchaur to a private residence built in Chandragiri Municipality Dahachowk.
According to his secretariat, he is scheduled to move from the government residence at 12 noon on Thursday.
For Pun, a private residence has been built in Dahchowk.
The election for the new vice president will be held tomorrow, Friday (March 17).
He is going to move back to his private residence before the election of the Vice President.
Ram Chandra Poudel, who was elected President on March 9, was welcomed to Sheetal Niwas on March 13.
The outgoing President Bidya Devi Bhandari also moved back to her private residence on the same day.
Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) parliamentary party leader Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav is a candidate for the post of Vice President from the alliance of Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist) and Nepal Samajbadi Party.
On the other hand, the Janamat Party has put forth proportional MP Mamata Jha as the vice presidential candidate.
CPN (UML) has nominated Astalakshmi Shakya as its candidate.
A total of 881 parliamentarians of the union and state will vote in the vice presidential election to be held on March 17.
