GCD distributes warm clothes to 3,024 students

Global Cooperation for Development (GCD), a non-governmental organization, has distributed warm clothes to 3,024 students in Baglung district.

The GCD distributed clothes to 2,404 students of Galkot Municipality and 620 students from Tarakhola Rural Municipality with financial support from China Foundation for Rural Development. Each pack of clothes cost Rs 2,410.29. 

Out of 55 schools, 44 are from Galkot Municipality and 11 are from Tarakhola Rural Municipality.

Mukti Marasini, the chairman of GCD, expressed belief that the distribution of these warm clothes will help create environment for students from low-income family to go to schools and develop interest in study.

“I believe that the distribution of these warm clothes will help those students from low-income family to develop their interest in going to schools and in study,” said Marasini. 

Similarly, the organization also conducted a teachers’ training for teachers of 55 schools, informed Shiva Khadka, chief of the Education Department, Galkot Municipality.  

The training was held at Galkot Higher Secondary School for the teachers from Galkot Municipality and at Tarakhola Rural Municipality-3 for those from this rural municipality.

Similarly, the social audit of the transaction has also been carried out in both the local units, said Marasini.
