Indian President Droupadi Murmu has congratulated newly elected president of Nepal Ram Chandra Poudel over the telephone this evening (Friday).
In a telephonic conversation, President Murmu congratulated her Nepali counterpart Paudel and extended best wishes for his successful as the Head of State.
Earlier in an official press note, she also had congratulated Paudel.
Murmu congratulated Paudel on assuming the office of the president and expressed belief that the Nepal-India bilateral relations will touch a new height during his stint as the president.
Both the Presidents shared common view that Nepal and India have a very close and cordial relations with century-old cultural, religious and geographical proximities. They also expressed the confidence that the persisting bilateral relations would further grow in the days to come, shared Foreign Affairs Advisor to President Paudel, Dr Suresh Chandra Chalise.
Also on the occasion, President Paudel had extended invitation to his Indian counterpart Murmu to visit Nepal and offer worships at Pashupatinath.
“President Droupadi Murmu had a telephonic conversation with Rt. Hon. President Ram Chandra Paudel of Nepal. She congratulated him on assuming the office of the President, and discussed ways to further strengthen the unique India-Nepal friendship,” The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu tweeted.
