Tribhuvan University (TU) has instructed to conduct Free Students' Union (FSU) elections in the postponed campuses by March 26.
Prof. Dr. Dharmakant Baskota, Vice-Chancellor of TU, has instructed to conduct the elections in the stalled campuses before the examinations scheduled to start from March 26.
He has urged to proceed with the election process in the stalled campuses via mutual agreement.
"I request all campuses, political parties, student organizations, local administrations to complete the postponed election process before the examination that is going to start from March 26," reads the statement.
He said that although polling had to be postponed in some campuses due to disputes of student organizations, it was conducted peacefully in most of the campuses.
On Sunday, March 19, FSU elections were held after 14 years in the TU constituent and affiliated campuses across the country.
Election process has been stopped in 13 campuses out of 62 campuses.
In the valley, the election process has been disrupted at Trichandra Campus, RR Campus, Amrit Science Campus, Patan Multiple Campus, and Bishwabhasha Campus among others.
Similarly, the election process of Pokhara's Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara Nursing Campus, Thakur Ram Multipurpose Campus, Birganj, Birendra Multipurpose Campus Chitwan, Dhaulagiri Multipurpose Campus, Baglung and Siddhanath Science Multicampus among others, which have the largest number of students, has also been stopped.
