11 NC leaders in fray for by-polls in Chitwan-2

Eleven members of the Nepali Congress (NC) have expressed their desire to contest the by-elections to be held in Chitwan-2 on April 23.

Those aspiring for by-elections range from former ministers to Mahasamiti members of the party.

They filed applications before the Regional Working Committee of the House of Representatives.

Former minister and central working member Umesh Shrestha, district President Rajeshwar Khanal, former district president Jit Narayan Shrestha, former minister of the province government Milanbabu Shrestha have submitted applications.

Similarly, former vice-president Kailash Koirala, former secretary Devendra Gurung, former joint secretary Rajan Karki, province working committee member Devaki Gautam, former deputy head of Bharatpur metropolis Parwati Shah, Mahasamiti member Gauri Shrestha and central member of Nepal Dalit Sangh Bipin Ramudamu have also received applications.

Former district president Shrestha informed that 11 NC leaders submitted their applications to the Regional Working Committee two days before the by-election.
