LM Cup T20: Sudurpaschim make flying start, beat LM XI by 51 runs

Sudurpaschim Province made a flying start by beating host Lalitpur Mayor’s XI in Lalitpur Mayor's Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.

In the match held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today, Sudurpaschim defeated Lalitpur Mayor’s XI by 51 runs.

Lalitpur was limited to mere 86/7 runs in the allotted 20 overs while chasing the 138-run target set by Sudurpaschim.

Lakshmi Chaudhary and Kanchan Shrestha shared 40 runs for the first wicket. Opener Lakshmi Chaudhary was run out for 25 runs. Kanchan was dismissed for 16 runs while Helisa Gurung was out for 19 runs. The other batsmen could not score double-digit runs.

Sudurpaschim’s  Ritu Kanoujiya took two wickets to her name.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Sudurpaschim made a total of 137 runs for the loss of three wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Opener and captain Bindu Rawal was bowled out for 18 runs. Facing 14 balls, Bindu hit four fours before being bowled out by Soni Pakhrin.

Rubi Poddar, who made 28 runs including four fours off 33 balls, was caught by Asmina Karmacharya while Rewati Dhami was ducked out.

Samjhana Khadka topped the score with 51 not out runs including six fours off 45 deliveries.

In reply, Kritika Marasini took two wickets and Sony Pakhrin grabed one wicket for Lalitpur Mayor’s XI.
