Ruling alliance distributes ministries; ministers to be sworn-in Thursday

The 10-party ruling alliance has finalized the distribution of ministerial portfolios. 

According to the distribution, Nepali Congress has got eight ministries left earlier by the CPN (UML) on February 27.

Similarly, the CPN (Maoist Center) has taken five ministries. With this, now the Maoist (Center) got one more ministry.

CPN (Unified Socialist) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal got two ministries. Its Vice Chairman Beduram Bhusal and Deputy General Secretary Prakash Jwala are confirmed to be ministers.

The names of Bhusal and Jwala were recommended by a secretariat meeting held on Wednesday.

Unified Socialist still laying claim to one more ministry but now there is a possibility of getting a minister of state.

Likewise, two people have become ministers from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP). The name of leader Ashok Rai has been confirmed. Another name would be Raj Kishor Yadav or Pradeep Yadav.

Similarly, Prabhu Sah, who established the Aam Janata Party, is set to become a minister.

Loktantrik Samajbadi Party led by Mahantha Thakur has also got a ministry. Its Sharat Singh Bhandari is sure to become the minister.

Nagarik Unmukti Party led by Ranjita Shrestha is set to participate in the government. Chairperson Ranjita will become the minister from this party.

Dr. CK Raut-led Janamat Party has alo got a ministry. Its lawmaker Abdul Khan is currently working as the Water Supply Minister.

Similarly, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai-led Nepal Samajbadi Party got a ministerial position. Mahendra Raya Yadav will become the minister from this party.

Yadav had won the election from Sarlahi-2 with the Maoist Center’s election symbol.

With this distribution, coalition parties struck a deal on 22 ministries. Now, with the appointment of state ministers in the remaining three ministries, Prachanda's cabinet will have 25 ministers in the government.
