Nepali Congress (NC) has finalized the names of ministers to be sent to Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'-led government.

Following a discussion with Prime Minister Prachanda on Thursday, President Sher Bahadur Deuba has confirmed the names of the ministers.

As per the ministers finalized by Deuba Dig Bahadur Limbu will take over the Ministry of Law, Sita Gurung, who was elected to the House of Representatives through the first-past-the-post system from Tehrathum, will get the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviations.

NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka will either take over the Ministry of Defense or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Khadka and Ramesh Rijal are yet to reach an agreement on the two ministries – the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Khadka will lead the government representing the Congress and also take charge as the Deputy Prime Minister.

Earlier, Deuba was preparing to promote Rijal as Foreign Minister. But when Khadka also expressed his interest in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, now Deuba will decide on foreign affairs and defense, following a discussion with Khadka.

On the other hand, Senior Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is currently holding the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure from the CPN (Maoist Center), will take over the Ministry of Home Affairs.

This ministry has been vacant since Rabi Lamichhane lost both the post of MP and Minister.

Similarly, Amanlal Modi, who is currently handling the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, will be transferred to the Ministry of Energy, sources have said.
