Nominations are being filed today for the by elections to be held in Bara-2, Tanahun-1 and Chitwan-2.
The by-elections are scheduled to be held on April 23.
According to the Election Commission of Nepal, the time for nomination is set from 10 am to 5 pm today.
The complaints can be lodged against the candidacies, if any, on April 4. On April 5, the complaints against the candidates will be investigated and the list will be published on the same day, according to the election schedule.
Similarly, those willing to withdraw their candidacies can do so from 9 am to 1 pm on April 5 and the final list will be published on the same day.
The by-elections will be held from 7 am to 5 pm on April 23.
Tanahun-1 lay vacant after Ram Chandra Poudel, the senior le of Nepal Congress, was elected as the President of Nepal on March 9, Bara-2 lay vacant after Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, the leader of Janta Samajbadi Party, became the vice president and Chitwan 2 lay vacant after Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), lost his post as the member of parliament (MP) over the citizenship dispute.
Nepali Congress, RSP and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) have fielded their candidates in the by-elections in these constituencies.
Nepali Congress has fielded Govinda Bhattarai in Tanahun-1 and Jit Narayan Shrestha in Chitwan-2. Similarly, JSP has decided to field Upendra Yadav in Bara 2 and RSP has decided to field Dr Swannim Wagle in Tanahun-1 and Rabi Lamichhane in Chitwan-2.
