Four Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) of Nepal Police have been promoted as Additional Inspectors General (AIG).
A cabinet meeting held at Singh Durbar on Friday took a decision to this effect as per the recommendation made by the promotion committee.
DIGs Sandeep Bhandari, Sudeep Giri, Meera Chaudhary and Tek Bahadur Tamang have been promoted as AIG.
On June 1 (2022), 17 people were simultaneously promoted to the post of DIG. Eight of them have become AIG while Basant Bahadur Kunwar, who was DIG at the same time, became IGP.
Earlier, Tek Prasad Rai, Deepak Thapa, Shyamalal Gyawali and Kiran Bajracharya were promoted as AIGs.
Rai has been assigned as the chief of National Police Academy, Maharajgunj, Thapa Administration Department, Gyawali Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari and Bajracharya has been posted at Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police.
The AIGs promoted today will be posted in the Department of Operations, Central Investigation Bureau, Human Resources Department and Provincial Coordination Department, Nepali Police said.
