Dabur Nepal posts turnover of Rs 13 billion in a single year

Dabur Nepal Pvt Ltd has increased its operating income by 2.5 billion rupees in a single year. In the last fiscal year, the company had posted a turnover of 13 billion rupees.

In the fiscal year 2077/078 BS, goods worth 10.69 billion rupees were sold. The company's profit before tax, interest and rent is 13.90 percent. The company's income increased by 21.71 percent in one year.

Dabur Nepal said that with the introduction of new products, there has been a natural increase in business.

"Now the increased business is a regular increase", said Harkirat Singh Bedi, Business Head of Dabur Nepal, "Dabur Nepal has helped increase the business while launching new products."

In the last five to six years, the company was doing business around 10 billion rupees. In the fiscal year 2074/075 BS, its operating income is 10.010 billion rupees.

Profit including tax, interest and inflation was 14.21 percent that year.

Similarly, in the fiscal year 075/076 BS, the company earned 10.25 billion rupees and earned a profit of 13.82 percent including taxes and interest.

"In the last fiscal year, the increase in turnover was mainly due to the increase in the business of beverages along with new products", he said.

The company has 'Real' brand as a beverage. More than 40 varieties of the Real alone are available in the market. The demand for real juice in the market is high.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the turnover of the company decreased by 2 billion rupees in the fiscal year 076/077 BS. As a result, the company had a turnover of only 8.9 billion rupees that year and the profit was limited to 11.40 percent.

After the pandemic, the business of the company has flourished.

Dabur, Real and Hajmola brands are the most popular in Nepal. The company has been manufacturing Ayurvedic and herbal products. Dabur has been selling juices, beverages, Chyawanpras, Glucose, Manjan, Hair Oil, Hajmola and Honey.

Dabur Nepal is a company that was established in 1989 and started its business in 1992. In Nepal it is a subsidiary of the main company in India.

Dabur India Limited has 97.50 percent stake in it. Dabur has been established as a multinational brand.

The company mentioned that Dabur Nepal products are available in more than 300 distributors and more than 100,000 retailers in Nepal.

9.61 billion investment at final stage 
Meanwhile, Dabur's additional investment in Nepal has reached its final stage.

The Board of Investment had approved Dabur Nepal's proposed major investment last year. On January 23, 2022, an investment of over 9.68 billion rupees was approved for the company's capacity enhancement and product diversification.

"For the growth of business in Nepal, we have been continuously increasing the investment", Bedi of the company told Nepalkhabar, "The new investment has been approved. We are in the final stage of completing all the necessary paperwork.

The company said that the investment approved by the Board of Investment will be used in the production of some new products.

"Some investments are made for new products, while some are used to increase the production capacity of existing products," he said.

Dabur has been the leader in FMCG manufacturing in India. Founded in 1884 in India, it has been manufacturing various products in healthcare, personal care and food sectors.

The company's products have reached more than 100 countries across the globe.
