Attorney General Dr. Dinmani Pokharel has urged that the decision of the Attorney General's Office not to pursue the case related to the passport of Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party RSP should not be made a political issue.
Attorney General Dr. Pokharel, in a program organized today on the occasion of the 100th day of his appointment as Attorney General, claimed that the Attorney General's Office evaluated the evidence in a procedural and prudent manner.
He also said that a task force has been formed for the purpose of improving the prosecution after discovering the weaknesses in the investigation and prosecution of criminal offences.
In the program, it was also informed that a new law will be formulated regarding the services and facilities of government lawyers.
The draft of the law related to the service facilities of the employees working in the Attorney General's office and government lawyers has been prepared and submitted to the office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers for theoretical approval.
According to the provisions of Article 161 of the Constitution of Nepal, the Attorney General's office is going to formulate the law.
