Discussions continue among top political leaders to reach agreement on TRC Bill

Discussions continue among the top leaders of the 3 parties, including the Speaker, to reach an agreement on the TRC Bill.

Top leaders, including the Prime Minister, are currently discussing to get a consensus on the fast-track passage of the TRC Bill.

At the residence of Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who is also the Chairman of the Maoist Center, Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of the ruling Nepali Congress, KP Sharma Oli, Chairman of CPN-UML and other leaders are discussing the issue of endorsement of the TRC Bill.

UML Chief Whip Padam Giri, Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, Congress MP Ishwari Neupane, Attorney General Dinmani Pokharel and former Attorney General Ramesh Badal are also participating in the meeting.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, in the discussion among the leaders of the three top parties in the office of Speaker Devraj Ghimire at Singhdarbar, Prime Minister Prachanda and Congress President Deuba asked UML President Oli to pass the TRC bill through fast track, but Oli refused. Oli's position is that the bill should be taken to the parliamentary committee.

After this, Prime Minister Prachanda said that he will hold a meeting today to finalize the matter.
