Three parties agree to make TRC Bill fair and universally acceptable

The meeting of the top leaders of the three main parties, including the Prime Minister and the Speaker, which was held this morning at the Speaker's residence in Baluwatar, has concluded.

In the meeting, it was agreed to make the Truth and Reconciliation Bill (TRC) fair and universally acceptable. It is said that the topic and process will be discussed again.

The leaders have agreed to decide on the leadership and representation of the joint committee and other committees.

The next meeting will be held on April 14 at 1 pm at Singha Darbar.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’- Chairman of the Maoist Center, Sher Bahadur Deuba- President of the ruling Nepali Congress, KP Sharma Oli- Chairman of CPN (UML) and other leaders participated in today's meeting. 

UML Chief Whip Padam Giri, Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, Congress MP Ishwari Neupane, Attorney General Dinmani Pokharel and former Attorney General Ramesh Badal were also present in the meeting.

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, in the discussion among the leaders of the three top parties in the office of Speaker Devraj Ghimire at Singhdarbar, PM Dahal and Congress President Deuba asked UML Chair Oli to pass the TRC Bill through fast track, but Oli refused. 

Oli's position is that the Bill should be taken to the parliamentary committee.
