Judge Bhuwan Giri has been arrested by the police. The police arrested Giri on Tuesday based on the complaint filed by his wife on the charge of rape.
He was arrested from Samakhusi in Kathmandu, police said.
According to the demand of District Police Office Kapilvastu, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On the other hand, a complaint has been registered against Giri's wife on the charge of stealing government documents. District Court Banke has already issued an order to arrest her.
Giri is currently serving in the Judicial Council.
