Nepal-China Tatopani transit point in Sindhupalchok is set to fully come into operation from May 1.
After the earthquake of April 25, 2015, China unilaterally closed the Tatopani checkpoint. On May 29, 2019, high-level officials of the two countries in a meeting agreed to open a transit point so that goods could be transported.
But with the surge of the Covid-19, the border which was closed again was opening only one way.
Now it has been agreed to open the border so that two-way freight can be transported and people can also move.
Nepal and Chinese security personnel have held talks towards resuming the Tatopani border point.
DSP Ram Kumar Yadav of Sindhupalchowk informed that border security and other matters were discussed in a meeting at Tatopani checkpoint of Sindhupalchok on Monday.
DSP Yadav informed that it has been agreed to keep more check points, arrange strict checks, share all information related to border security immediately, cooperate in mutual security related activities in the coming days, DSP Yadav informed.
