Electric vehicles are the most imported vehicles in Nepal so far.
From July to March, 2451 vehicles have entered.
Compared to the previous year, 1,000 more electric vehicles have been imported this year.
There are more 100 kilowatt capacity vehicles entering Nepal.
Last year, the import of electric cars from 100 to 150 kW increased, but now the import of vehicles up to 100 kW has increased. Only 1473 were entered in 9 months of the fiscal year 2078/079.
The government has increased the tax on electric vehicles above 100 KW and the import has decreased.
2,379 electric vehicles of up to 100 KW have been imported while only 65 of up to 200 KW have been imported.
MG's JTS EV, which was previously the best seller in Nepal, is only importing up to 100 KW capacity vehicles with the increase in tax on EVs.
Tata, BYD, MG are importing vehicles with capacity less than 100 KW.
In 9 months, electric jeeps, cars and vans worth 6.84 billion rupees have been imported.
In the same period of the previous year, the import was worth 4 billion 29 million rupees.
Vehicles worth 36.44 billion rupees were imported in 9 months.
Last year, 82 billion 20 million rupees were imported in 9 months.

Petrol vehicle imports increasing, still less than last year
The import of petrol vehicles is gradually increasing.
In the 9 months of the current fiscal year, 1,345 petrol engine vehicles have been imported. Most of which have petrol engines up to 1500 cc.
988 vehicles ranging from 1,000 to 1,500 cc have been imported.
Only 34 from 1500 to 2000 and 10 above 2000 cc have entered.
Till 3 months ago, only 649 petrol engine vehicles were imported.
Imports of diesel engine vehicles are very low.
In 9 months, only 466 vehicles have been imported.
As for diesel engines, 295 vehicles from 1500 cc to 2500 cc have been imported.
Compared to the previous year, very less petrol vehicles have been imported in the current fiscal year.
10 thousand 856 petrol vehicles were imported in 9 months.
At the time of recession in the auto market, businessmen believe that the market will be stable with the introduction of new models by auto importers.

Only Mahindra has introduced 2 new models to Nepal.
The company that introduced the XUV 700 in the month of January has also released the XUV 300 on Wednesday.
Earlier, Suzuki also launched the Grand Vitara and the new Brezza in Nepal in the last week of February.
Along with this, businessmen believe that the new model will help to make the auto market inactive for 1 year.
Businessmen have said that along with imports, bank interest rates are the main reason for the slowdown in the auto business.
They say that the auto business is less because the bank does not provide car loans and the loans given are also expensive.
Businessmen are asking Rashtra Bank to reduce auto loan risk burden.
Governor Mahaprasad Adhikari has assured to address the demands of businessmen including risk burden in the third quarter review of monetary policy.

Two-wheeler auto market is disappointing
When the government imposed a complete ban on the import of 4-wheelers, diesel and petrol were less imported.
Although the government has kept the import of motorcycles up to 150 cc open for two-wheelers, very few have entered due to lack of demand in the market.
Last year, only 145,000 units up to 150 cc were sold in 9 months.
In the 9 months of the current fiscal year, 79,528 petrol engine two-wheelers have been imported.
There are 6, 263 electric 2 wheelers.
In the previous year, there were 250,000 petrol engine two-wheelers in 9 months.
