Nepal defeated Oman by 84 runs in the ACC Premier Cup cricket tournament held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Friday.
Oman was restricted to 226 runs while they were chasing the 311-run target set by Nepal.
Mohammad Nadeem topped the score with 65 runs followed by Sandeep Goud with 46 runs while Ayaan Khan collected 29 runs.
To restrict Oman from reaching the set target, Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took three wickets each while Dipendra Singh Airee and Lalit Rajbanshi claimed two and one wicket each.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 310 runs in the allotted 50 overs losing eight wickets.
Kushal Malla topped the score with 108 runs studded with nine fours and 10 sixes off 64 deliveries. Sompal Kami hit 63 runs including nine fours off 48 balls while Bhim Sharki collected 33 runs.
In reply, Ayaan Khan claimed two wickets while Bilal Khan, Kaleemullah, Zeeshan Maqsood, Fayyaz Butt, Aqib Ilyas, Jatinder Singh claimed one wicket each for Oman.
The 10 teams participating in the Premier Cup are divided into two groups. Group A includes hosts Nepal, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia.
Group B consists of UAE, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore, and Bahrain. The Premier Cup will be held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and Mulpani Cricket Ground till May 1.
The top two teams in the group will qualify for the semi-finals.
