Three days after the death of a nine-year-old boy in the Tawaghat-Lipulek road construction by the Indian side, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has taken the matter up with India.
According to a source, the MoFA sent a diplomatic note to the Indian government through Indian Embassy in Kathmandu over the matter on Sunday.
The minor boy died after being hit by a stone that flew in a blast carried out for the expansion of the Tawaghat-Lipulek road by an Indian construction company across the Mahakali river on Friday.

In its diplomatic note, the ministry has urged the Indian side to take precautions before carrying out infrastructures along the border thereby preventing similar untoward incidents in the near future. The ministry also asked the Indian government to coordinate with the local administration of Nepal while carrying out similar development activities across the border.
"We have also asked the Indian side to provide relief and compensation to the victim's family," an official at the ministry told Nepalkhabar. The MoFA communicated to the Indian side based on a field report on the tragic incident which was forwarded by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
"We received the home ministry report over the incident only this morning," the official said. Earlier on Saturday, the Indian side admitted the mistake that the Nepali boy was killed after being hit by the stone that flew in a blast carried out for the expansion of the Tawaghat-Lipulek road by an Indian company.
It also vowed to provide Rs 1 million to the victim's family as a compensation.
