Visiting Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia Tim Watts called on Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
The Ministry said the two exchanged views on the issues ranging from mutual interests to strengthening Nepal-Australia cooperation and partnership.
Tim Watts arrived here on Tuesday in a two-day visit.
During his visit, the Australian leader is expected to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
He has stated that the two countries are close friends, and for over sixty years, connections between peoples have underpinned our relationship.
It is said that there are around 130,000 people of Nepali ancestry living in Australia and the Nepali community is the fastest growing migrant community in Australia.
"I was glad to meet with Nepal's Foreign Minister to talk about how we can strengthen the Nepal-Australia relationship even further," Tim Watts wrote on Facebook after the visit.
During his visit to Nepal, Tim Watts is scheduled to attend several cultural, academic and other events with people from diverse sectors.
