Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa successfully climbs Seven Summits

Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa, executive chairman of Yeti Airlines and Tara Air, has successfully climbed the Seven Summits, the highest peaks of all the seven continents.

He successfully climbed the world's highest peak Mt Everest at 7:33 am today. Earlier he had climbed the highest mountains of six continents.

The 57-year-old Sherpa climbed the 6,962-meter Mt Aconcagua in Argentina last year. He has climbed 6,094-meter Denali in North America, 4,810-meter Mount Blanc in Europe, 5,642-meter Elbrus in Eurasia, 5,895-meter Milimanjaro in Tanzania (Africa), 4,884-meter Pancak Jaya in Oceania, 2,228-meter Kosciuszko, and 4,892-meter Mt Vinson in Antarctica.

He has been involved in hotel business along with airlines and trekking companies.

Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa is the husband of late Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, the first Nepali woman to climb Mt Everest.
