President Ram Chandra Paudel is addressing the joint meeting of both houses of the Federal Parliament today (Friday).
There is a constitutional provision that President Paudel can address a meeting of a house of the Federal Parliament or a joint meeting of both houses and even summon a parliament meeting for that purpose.
This is his first address to the Federal Parliament after being elected as the President.
The main task of the Federal Parliament is to discuss and endorse policies and programs presented by the government.
Leaders of political parties, heads, and representatives of constitutional bodies, high-ranking officials of the government, and heads of diplomatic missions in Nepal, among others will participate in the meeting.
