CPN (UML) Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Subas Nembang has vehemently stated that his party would not let the House meeting run unless the allegation levelled against his party by the ruling party is verified.

CPN (Maoist Center) lawmaker Lekhnath Dahal had alleged that the golden Jalahari installed at Pashupatinath Temple by then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is not made up of gold, but the brass.

Nembang has demanded that the allegation levelled against the main opposition leader should be corroborated, warning that his party would not allow the house to run unless it is verified.

“On May 24, Maoist Center leader Lekhnath Dahal alleged that the golden Jalahari installed under the Jyotirlinga in the inner sanctum of the Pashupatinath is made up of brass, not the gold. The general public have the right to know about it. The government should answer this question. No one should be spared in cases of corruption,” said Nembang.

On February 24, 2021, a golden Jalahari weighing 108 kilograms had been installed under the Jyotirlinga in the inner sanctum of Pashipatinath Temple during the tenure of KP Sharma Oli as the prime minister.

The meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed for 20 minutes after UML lawmakers picketed the well.

UML lawmakers stood up from their chairs and disrupted the House meeting on Friday, shouting slogans against the government and demanding investigation into the case.
