A writ filed by former Maoist child soldier Lenin Bista has been registered in the Supreme Court.

The writ against Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been registered under number 079-WO-1388 in the Supreme Court.

A single bench of Justice Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai on Friday had given the order to file the writ.

The hearing of the said writ has been scheduled for June 13.

Earlier, the Supreme Court administration had refused to register the case against Prachanda.

The former Maoist combatant Bista had filed a writ saying that the use of child soldiers during the Maoist insurgency violates the international humanitarian law.

But after the writ was dismissed by the administration, Bista sought an interim order for the registration of the writ.

The leader including then CPN (Maoist) Chairman Prachanda and senior leader Dr Baburam Bhattarai have been mentioned as defendants in the writ.
