The writ filed against CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the Supreme Court has been scheduled for hearing today.
Maoist child soldier Bista who filed the writ at the Supreme Court’s seeking action against Prime Minister Prachanda saying that the use of child soldiers during the insurgency violates the International Humanitarian Law.
Bista on Sunday filed a writ at the apex court against Prachanda alleging that he had committed a war crime by misusing the child soldiers during a decade-long insurgency.
Earlier, the Supreme Court administration had turned down to register the writ petition against Prime Minister.
A single bench of Justice Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai on Friday ordered to register the case which has been scheduled for hearing today.
The complainant in the writ has mentioned Maoist Chairman Prachanda and Nepal Samajbadi Party Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai as defendants.
Prachanda was the chairman of the then CPN (Maoist) and Dr. Bhattarai was the senior leader of the party during the Maoist insurgency.
