Nepali Congress lawmaker and former General Secretary Dr. Shashanka Koirala said the main opposition CPN (UML) is rumored to be doing homework to form a new government in alliance with the Nepali Congress.
Talking to journalists outside the Federal Parliament building in New Baleshwar on Monday, Koirala said that the Congress and UML are heard to be forging an alliance to form a new government.
However, he denied this issue to have been discussed with the leadership.
“The reality on the new power equation will come out only after meeting with party President Sher Bahadur Deuba,” said Koirala.
Meanwhile, he claimed that no one will become the prime minister from the Congress until Deuba remains as the president.
Koirala further said that he will contest the presidential election of the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress.
“I will run the presidential election in the 15th General Convention. But I will listen to the advices of cadres prior to announcing my candidacy,” said Koirala.
