The owners of the Lord of Drinks (LOD), a night club in Thamel, Kathmandu, have absconded.

According to the police, the owners Rudil Ballav Shrestha and Raju Singh Suwal went into hiding after turning off their mobile phones for a week after being linked to the case of minor rape.

The police obtained an arrest warrant from the District Court Kathmandu on June 28 against the two owners of the club.

After obtaining the arrest warrant, the police also searched their residence in Lazimpat. But they have not been found.

The club was drawn into controversy after 50-year-old Sudan Koirala from Pokhara was arrested on charges of taking a 16-year-old minor from the club and raping her.

Minors are not allowed in the night club. The police took permission to arrest those club owners for allowing them to enter the club.

It is alleged that a minor was raped in Bagdol, Lalitpur on June 14. The victim lodged a complaint against Koirala the day after the incident.

Lalitpur police chief SSP Siddhi Bikram Shah said they are investigating the case after taking Koirala into custody.
