As the obstruction by the opposition continues in both the houses of the Federal Parliament, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli are going to hold a meeting in a bid to resolve the deadlock on Monday afternoon.
After the talks with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba failed to reach a conclusion on Sunday, two top leaders are making preparations to hold talks to reach an agreement.
UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal has informed that there will be separate talks between the two leaders. The dialogue between the two leaders is going to take place at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.
After Prime Minister Prachanda made a controversial statement last Monday hinting that he was made the prime minister at the behest of New Delhi, the main opposition UML is obstructing the Parliament meetings.
UML continued to disrupt the National Assembly meeting on Sunday. That is why National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timalsina adjourned the meeting till Monday afternoon.
Similarly, the meeting of the House of Representatives was adjourned on Sunday and rescheduled for Monday at 3 o'clock.
UML has taken a stand that it will not allow the parliament run until the Prime Minister steps down. Due to the obstruction by the UML, the budget for the next financial year has not yet been passed by the upper house, the National Assembly.
Following a meeting between Prachanda and Oli, UML on Sunday floated a new proposal to withdraw the statement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha and the press release issued by Govinda Acharya, the press advisor to the DPM.
