Govt recommends ambassadors for six out of seven diplomatic missions

The Nepal government has made ambassadorial recommendations for six out of seven diplomatic missions.

According to sources, a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday recommended six joint secretaries of the Foreign Ministry as ambassadors.

As per the decision, Joint Secretary Lok Bahadur Thapa has been recommended as the ambassador to the Permanent Mission of the United Nations in New York, Ram Prasad Subedi as the ambassador to the Permanent Mission of the United Nations in Geneva, and Sudheer Bhattarai as the ambassador to France.

Similarly, Joint Secretary Dhan Bahadur Oli has been recommended as the ambassador to Thailand, Tej Bahadur Chhetri as the ambassador to the UAE, and Ghana Shyam Lamsal has been recommended as the ambassador to Kuwait.

Now, the government has to recommend an ambassador for Canada.
