The Nepali Congress Transformation Campaign has submitted a report to party President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday.
One of the members of the campaign, Gururaj Ghimire, informed that the report has been submitted to President Deuba through the Chief Secretary.
The report of the two-month campaign announced by the third-rung leaders on May 16 has been handed over to President Deuba.
In the report, various suggestions have been made to the leadership on behalf of the campaign, which range from not forming a coalition in elections to abolishing the proportional representation system.
The reported stated that the Congress will suffer more damages if it does not address the aspirations and needs of transformation in a timely manner without making timely reforms.
"If the Nepali Congress is not reformed and the aspirations and needs of the transformation are not addressed in a timely manner, it is clear that the party members will become more and more frustrated and the popular base of the party will decline," the report said.
In the report, it is also mentioned that the unexpected result of the by-election held on April 23 made the workers more disappointed.
Dissatisfaction, displeasure and anger have come from friends from different districts individually and collectively after the party leaders were found involved in the corruption cases.
The report also suggested that a timely, clear and people-oriented policy should be formulated.
"The policy convention that is to be held within six months of the 14th General Convention should be completed as soon as possible", the report states.
"Just like the arrangement that the chairman of each level can stay in the same position for only 2 terms, it should be arranged that the same person cannot be the prime minister more than twice."
The report also suggests that the investment environment within the country should be made attractive and trustworthy. "A policy should be adopted that does not impose any restrictions on non-resident Nepali citizens to come to the investment sector", it is further said.”
The campaign has taken a stand that the Congress should show its commitment not to form an electoral alliance.
"The Nepali Congress, which has continuously struggled for a multi-party competitive governance system based on pluralism, should not form an electoral alliance," the report said, "Multiparty competition should be encouraged."
The campaign also concluded that the ideological, psychological deviation and insecurity caused by the electoral alliance had a long-term impact on the party members.
