Chinese President Xi's closest confidiant arrives Kathmandu

Politburo Member of the Communist Party of China and Chongqing City Chief Yuan Jiajun has arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Yuan landed in Kathmandu at 11:45 am on a flight of SriLankan Airlines from Colombo, leading a 26-member delegation.

They were welcomed by CPN (Maoist Center) General Secretary Dev Gurung and the Chinese Ambassador Chen Song at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The VIP team including Yuan, who arrived in Kathmandu on a three-day political visit, will stay at The Dwarika's Hotel in Battisputali. It is said that arrangements have been made for other members of the team to stay at Marriott Hotel.

Yuan, one of the closest confidants of the President and General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping, is scheduled to hold high-level political meetings during his stay in Nepal, sources have said. 

However, at this time, the top leaders of the communist parties of Nepal, including Prime Minister and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, are out of the country.

Among the top 25 leaders of the Communist Party of China, he is also an engineer in space science. 

Yuan arrived in Nepal after wrapping up his visit to Sri Lanka.
