A video conferencing via zoom was held between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is on a two-day visit to Italy, and Yuan Jiajun, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China, who arrived on a three-day visit to Nepal on Sunday.
The Chinese high-level delegation that arrived in Kathmandu this afternoon held talks with Prime Minister Prachanda, who landed in Italy on Saturday, via zoom.
Prime Minister Prachanda's Press Adviser Gobinda Acharya told Nepalkhabar that the talks lasted for half an hour starting 4 pm on Sunday.
"They discussed issues of mutual interests and bilateral cooperation during the meeting," Acharya said.
The Chinese team is engaged in political meetings after landing in Kathmandu this morning.
It is said that Jiajun, a confidant of President Xi Jinping, has arrived in Nepal to prepare for Prachanda’s visit to China in the near future. Prachanda is preparing to visit China in the first week of August.
The delegation led by Jiajun is scheduled to meet with President Ram Chandra Paudel on Sunday afternoon.
Jiajun is also scheduled to meet with Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka and Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Narayan Kaji Shrestha today at Singha Durbar.
