Speaker Devraj Ghimire has met with Communist Party of China Central Committee Political Bureau member and Chongqing City Committee Secretary Yuan Jiajun who is visiting Nepal.
In the meeting held in Kathmandu on Monday, bilateral relations, economic, commercial, political, social, religious issues were discussed.
During the meeting, Speaker Ghimire expressed his gratitude to China for according high importance to Nepal by paying such a high-level visit.
"After the visit of President Xi Jinping in 2019, high-level visits have been taking place," Ghimire said, "I believe that bilateral political visits will help in the development and prosperity of Nepal."
Speaker Ghimire said that Nepal is a beautiful country in the world and added that even a small help from China will contribute to its prosperity.
He said that Nepal is making progress in stability and development along with the institutionalization of the constitution, while laying emphasis on the Transit Agreement and the development of the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung railway line reached by then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
The speaker said that China and Nepal, which are connected by mountains and rivers and religion and culture, have had harmonious relations since ancient times.
He said that the main portion of the tourists visiting Nepal is from China, which has helped Nepal's tourism industry.
The Chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, Li Zhanshu, visited last year and Nepal's National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina visited China a month ago.
CPC leader Yuan Jiajun said that he visited Nepal under the instructions of Chinese President Xi Jinping and said that China will help Nepal become self-sufficient in food.
During his visit to Nepal, he announced an aid of 8 million Yuan, ie 140 million Nepali rupees.
Leader Jiajun has also invited Speaker Ghimire to visit China.
Speaker Ghimire and leader Jiajun launched the language lab in a program held at LRI School Kalanki on Monday. Speaker Ghimire said that China is a reliable development partner of Nepal.
